On October 25 and 26 in Bucharest, under the patronage of Vichy Laboratories, a seminar on trichology was held, in which Dr. Maria Cassini took part.

Guest speakers at the seminar were Prof. Yulia Ovcharenko, founder and director of the Institute of Trichology and founder and president of the Ukrainian Research Community of Hair Pathologies, as well as Prof. Kuzma Kobzi, dermatologist, trichologist specialist from Ukraine, nominated trichologist of of the year 2019 and member of the European Research Community in Hair Pathologies.

Nearly fifty doctors-dermatologists from Romania and Bulgaria were invited. Scalp pathology issues were discussed during the workshop.

Vichy Laboratories identified an imbalance of the microbiome in the scalp area as one of the causes of dandruff. The microbiome is important for the immune response and protects the body from dangerous bacteria. The disturbed balance of the microbiome on the scalp leads to the appearance of dandruff.

Causes of such disorders are mainly stress, fatigue, polluted urban environment. Therefore, the problem of dandruff and hair loss is becoming more and more widespread and timely care of hair and scalp is an essential moment in solving this health problem.
