Facelift

Facelift surgery lifts and firms sagging facial tissues to restore a more naturally youthful facial appearance. It is often said that having a facelift works to “turn back the clock” and patient look like a younger version of him or herself. By removing excess, sagging skin, smoothing deep folds, and lifting and tightening the deep facial tissues, a facelift surgery can help a patient look not just younger, but simply “better.” Facelift surgery is a complex procedure that requires extensive knowledge in facial anatomy, a very specific skill set of surgical techniques, and a highly-developed eye for aesthetic detail.

The end result is visible facial rejuvenation. With this type of facelift can be corrected many unaesthetic changes in the face and the consequences of age. The first step before the intervention is to go through a consultation with our specialist, where you will have the opportunity to comment on the desired result and how achievable it is. The patient has the ability to ask all the questions that interest him/her, as well as let the doctor know about any diseases. The patient will be informed about how the procedure is going, the recovery period, and receive instructions on what to do before and after the operation.

The surgery is performed under general anesthesia, although it can also be performed under local anesthesia and intravenous sedation. The duration is about 2-3 hours. As a result of the facelift, the face looks younger, smoother and more attractive. The durability of the achieved effect is individual, up to several years and depends primarily on the condition of the skin. It is determined by its blood supply and elasticity, which decrease with age. In addition, smokers have thinner and weaker skin and the result usually lasts less time than non-smokers. To stabilize the result in smokers, it is recommended to stop smoking two weeks before and after the operation and use a face cream rich in oxygen. There is usually swelling and bruising after the operation. Cold compresses can help these symptoms go away faster.

Blepharoplasty

What is eyelid surgery?

Blepharoplasty is a surgical procedure which involves the removal of excess skin and fat surrounding the eyes. Essentially, by implementing this procedure, a plastic surgeon can repair and correct the area of the eye where the skin is extremely thin, and the first ageing signs can be noticed. Blepharoplasty can also help people who have dark circles and can improve vision.

Who is a good candidate for this kind of surgery?

In general, anyone can choose blepharoplasty as a solution in case they have a droopy eyelid. Another suitable candidate for this surgery could be someone whose eyelid looks weak, especially when vision is negatively affected due to an extremely droopy upper lid. It has also been noticed that after the repair of a droopy eyelid, women who used to find it difficult to apply make-up on their eyes, have shown to have a brighter and more relaxed look.

What is the procedure?

A blepharoplasty can be done under a local anaesthetic on the eyelid and it usually lasts between one to one and a half hours. A very important benefit of this surgery is the fact that the patient can leave and go home right after the surgery is finished. It is expected to notice some swelling around the area of the eyelid on the day of the surgery and within the following 5 days. During the recovery period, the patient needs to take care of the eyelid area using ice packs in order to reduce bruising and swelling.

In recent years, another method has been promoted for the correction of the eyelids, the so-called non-surgical blepharoplasty. This method follows the procedure of removing excess skin without any bleeding. However, a scientific study has not been published regarding this method yet. Therefore, patients should be considerably cautious with this one.

What can’t be repaired with blepharoplasty

Wrinkles and ageing scars around the eyes (goose’s feet) as well as saggy eyebrows. To repair this, blepharoplasty should be combined with other kinds of surgical procedures such as lifting and other techniques that can be recommended by your plastic surgeon.

Ear correction – Otoplasty

Otoplasty (or ear surgery) is part of aesthetic and reconstructive surgery of the external ear.

In most cases, a dressing will be placed to cover the wound after surgery. You don’t have to remove the bandage to keep the ears in the proper position.

Unless otherwise directed, the dressing should remain in place for one week.

We usually recommend wearing an elastic band (ear band) for the next six weeks. It is best to wear the band even during the day.

Do not wear earrings or glasses (if possible) for three weeks.

Hair transplantation

Hair transplantation returns not only your hair, but also what you have lost - the first and foremost - your self-esteem.

air transplantation returns not only your hair but also what you have lost – the first and foremost – your self-esteem.

It is estimated that 1 in 2 men and 1 in 4 women show significant hair thinning up to 50. Hair begins to fall due to hereditary predisposition (androgenic type of alopecia), which leads to thinning of the scalp hair. The phenomenon often begins at the end of puberty and develops very quickly, greatly influencing fragile self-esteem, as hair loss has a strong psychological impact.

Hair transplantation is the only medical solution for re-thickening hair in the zones of thinning. The result is obtained by taking the hair follicles from the back of the head and implanting them in the diluted areas. This is the only treatment that, with a sophisticated method of follicular unit extraction (FUE), can provide a consistent and natural result, painless, without scars, and without side effects.

Hair transplant with Trichoscopically controlled method

ellissimo hair clinic offers the most advanced method “Trichoscopically controlled FUE”, which is based on the study of trichoscopy and provides:

  • maximum utilization of the donor area (extraction zone of hair follicles)
  • optimal coverage of the thinned areas
  • excellent planning of the front hairline
  • increasing the vitality and quality of the grafts (transported hair follicles)
  • reviving all grafts

Steps

1st step: Trichoscopic study
Trichoscopy is the first necessary step in assessing the characteristics of the scalp. An assessment is made of the extent of the donor area that can be used and the coverage needs in the diluted areas.

2nd step: Hair transplant planning
Based on the trichoscopy study and after determining the number of hair follicles available for transplantation, their distribution is planned in the thinned areas to achieve the best aesthetic result.

3rd step: Performing the hair transplant
The transplantation process begins with preparing individual hair follicles from the donor area. The instruments used have a diameter of less than one millimeter (about 0.6 millimeters). It is exactly as much as necessary to remove the hair follicles from the surrounding tissues without harming the donor area or endangering the survival of the hair follicles themselves. The vitality of the hair follicles is further enhanced by the modern PRP (Platelet Rich Plasma) method as grafts are kept in an enriched plasma solution until implanted in the diluted areas. Through this method, they are strengthened for their implantation and enrichment. Once removed from the hair follicles, they are to be implanted in the thinned areas, always at the correct depth and with the right angle and direction so that the result is natural.

4th step: Comparative trichoscopy study
Upon completion of the hair transplantation, a periodic scan repetition is performed, allowing detailed examination and detection of changes in treated areas with statistical measurements and comparative imaging “before” and “after.” It is also possible to reassess the number and density of hairs and hair follicles in the diluted areas. The result of the hair transplant looks complete after 12 months.

FUE Method

Today, in our clinic, we apply the Automatic F.U.E. Technique without incision and stitching. Using the latest automated micro-engine allows more transplants to be extracted for less time, especially with zero loss of follicular injury!

Using a microscope, we always remove each hairy stable growth follicle from the donor area one after the other, and then transfer it and place it intact in the cured zone. With this method we avoid surgical removal of the graft from the back of the head. This technique is applied in appropriate circumstances after detailed information. It is indicated as a basic method for hair transplantation, as well as in case of additional thickening or covering of small traumatic areas.

FUT Method and Micro Strip Tech

This is the oldest hair transplant procedure, but it is developed with the latest technical applications. In the FUT (strip) method, the doctor removes a strip of tissue from the donor area (permanent hair area) located at the back and on the sides of the scalp. This strip is split into separate hair follicles. At the same time, the plastic surgeon places each hair follicle individually depending on past and future hair loss. The result will be completely natural and the aesthetic appearance of the visitor – impressive. The advantage of this technique is the large number of hair follicles that provides us with the donor area so that a large portion of the thinned area is covered.

Micro Strip Technique

This is the latest and most impressive evolution of the Mega Strip as it caters to all those who are undergoing hair transplantation because with this technique, we can place 10,000 hairs with even a single plan, a number that gives remarkable results even for advanced hair loss. The advantage of the Micro Strip technique compared to the classic Strip is the invisible incision after grafting.

Frequently asked questions

The normal number of hair that can be lost every day is 50 to 100 hairs. Any loss of hair above this number is considered pathological and is usually called “hair loss.”

The factors determining the development of the scalp during human life are mainly heredity (parental and maternal genes), external causes (excessive friction, use of chemicals such as paint, excessive heat on hair drying, use of inappropriate hygiene products and maintenance) , disorders (e.g., thyroid abnormalities), scalp skin diseases, medication, poor diet, stress

Androgenic alopecia – generally accepted as baldness – affects mainly men and secondly women. It occurs only in people with genetic predisposition and has a hormonal substrate. It is due to the production of 5α-dihydrotestosterone by testosterone mediated by the enzyme 5α-reductase. Increasing 5α-dihydrotestosterone in hair follicles causes inhibition of their metabolism leading to hair loss.
Hair transplantation is the transfer of healthy hair follicles from one area of the scalp to another showing some degree of hair thinning. The hair can be carried along the head and other parts of the body (e.g. eyebrows).
To understand the principle of hair transplantation, we need to explain the concept of stable and changing hair growth. People who are genetically predisposed to developing androgenetic alopecia have a hair growth zone (back and side of the head) that will always be covered with hairs, and a zone of varying hair growth that at some point will showed a different degree of hair thinning. The area from which the transplant follicle (donor area) will be obtained is the area of stable hair growth which is assessed as good, moderate or poor according to the area, the frequency of the hairs found there and the elasticity of the skin. The link between the donor and the receiving area is the one that determines the end result.
Based on the above, it is understood that not all candidates meet the requirements for successful hair transplantation. Statistically, this figure reaches 20% and is due to the disproportionate large balding area that cannot be covered by the existing donor area.

Naturally, the results are excellent for both sexes.

New hairs do not fall and retain the properties they had in their original place. They can also be subjected to any kind of treatment (trimming, washing, dyeing), just like the rest of the hair.

The process is done with a local anesthetic (or full, if deemed necessary) and is completely painless.

From 3,000 to 10,000 hairs depending on the density of the donor area and the size of the surface we want to cover.

The usual duration is from 4 to 8 hours.

The next day, one can return to his or her activity, following, of course, the advice of his doctor.

No. This is guaranteed by the skills of a specialist who performs aesthetic intervention without leaving any scars.

The choice of the best technique is tailored to the needs and needs of the individual applicant and depends on the judgment and experience of the specialist in order to achieve the best possible result. At this point, it is important to emphasize the importance of anticipating further dilution in areas that are not diluted during the intervention phase.

Vaginal rejuvenation

Do You also Suffer from Intimate Discomforts?

Intimate discomforts such as dryness, burning, and urinary incontinence can occur also during pre-menopause or after childbirth. The main cause is often atrophic vaginitis: a disease that can adversely affect your life and your relationship with your partner. Among the women suffering from it:

75 % reported that vaginal atrophy negatively impacts their lives
63 % failed to recognize vaginal atrophy as a chronic condition
44 % report that they did not consult a gynecologist to find a solution
4 % only recognized the common symptoms of vaginal atrophy

MonaLisa Touch® The new laser therapy for the prevention and care of your vaginal health

MonaLisa Touch® is a functional Intimate rejuvenation treatment based on a special fractional CO2 laser created for the vaginal mucosa.

MonaLisa Touch® prevents and resolves estrogen drops in the vaginal tissue (typically occurring during menopause or after childbirth) by re-activating the production of new collagen and reestablishing the conditions that the vaginal mucosa once had.

MonaLisa Touch® is now the most effective non-surgical and non-pharmacological solution for preventing and treating vaginal atrophy and its after-effects, which many women suffer from during menopause and after childbirth.

How it works

Fractional laser: a combination of maximum effectiveness without side effects or pain.

The CO2 laser gently acts on the vaginal walls through a special scanner, creating indistinguishable micro-lesions that are required for triggering a neocollagenesis process (production of new collagen) and reorganizing and re-equilibrating the components of the vaginal mucosa.

The laser’s action therefore safely and painlessly reactivates and reestablishes the proper function of the relative urogenital structures while also improving the symptoms associated with urinary dysfunction (mild incontinence due to stress).

A tissue regeneration process lasting numerous weeks is triggered, but stimulation occurs immediately and significant improvements can be seen even after the first treatment.

The results: complete tissue regeneration starting from the first treatment

The mucosa tissue thus becomes more nourished and hydrated and the epithelium becomes thicker, more toned (vaginal tightening), and elastic. It also reestablishes the correct vaginal pH, which helps maintain its natural protective barrier and reduces the risk of infection. One simple treatment lasting only a few minutes, without pain, side effects, or recovery time, can give the tissue the tone and elasticity it once had, positively affecting one’s quality of life and personal relationships.

Vaginal discomforts
Problems that are often neglected significantly impact the quality of life.

Atrophic vaginitis
The drop in estrogen that comes with menopause or even during breastfeeding after delivery causes a series of problems that severely impact one’s social life and personal relationships. Among the most bothersome problems is atrophic vaginitis, which is the lack of nourishment and hydration of the cells of the vaginal mucosa. This condition causes a progressive thinning of the vaginal and vulvar mucosa, becoming more delicate, sensitive, and more exposed to trauma.

Vaginal dryness, burning, and being constantly bothered are a result of atrophic vaginitis, which is often not spoken about because some consider it a natural consequence during menopause and after childbirth. Thanks to innovative laser techniques, this problem can be prevented and resolved safely and painlessly.

Pain during sexual intercourse (dyspareunia)
One after-effect of atrophic vaginitis is dyspareunia – pain during sexual intercourse. An atrophic vagina is thin, fragile, lacks elasticity, and is dry and unlubricated. This causes pain during sexual intercourse with a series of negative consequences regarding the couple’s relationship, which lead to a lack of sexual desire and uneasy feelings during intimate moments with your partner.

Dyspareunia can also be caused by pain in the perineal region caused by scarring of the episiotomy or after a laceration from a spontaneous delivery.

Understanding the cause of the pain and using the latest generation laser treatment on the tissue is now the most effective way of resolving this symptom.

Urinary incontinence
This is one of the most common feminine problems in women over 35, severely compromising their quality of life. There are various types and levels: from stress (laughing or coughing, lifting weight), urgency (involuntary loss of urine due to lack of control of the urination stimulus by the brain), mixed (incontinence from a combination of stress and urinary imperiosity) or from reflux (occurs when the bladder is so full that the internal pressure is greater than that of the urethra).

Embarrassment and shame prevent one from facing the problem, which one often bears with resignation, but now there are state-of-the-art and minimally invasive treatments to help resolve this problem.*

* Urinary incontinence is a complex problem that requires careful diagnosis by your doctor before being treated.

Labiaplasty

Labiaplasty is an aesthetic correction that aims to change the shape or size of the labia minora.

The reason for their change may be different – in some women, the labia minora are so large that when they move, they experience pain from rubbing in their underwear, in others – the size of the labia interferes with their sexual pleasure. In some patients, such surgery is necessary due to hypertrophy/enlargement and/or sagging caused by various factors.

During the operation, parts of the labia minora are cut in a certain way so that they are reduced to their desired size without changing the senses and glandular structures.

After surgery to reduce the labia minora, patients feel more satisfied with their sexual experiences, as excess skin often makes it difficult to stimulate one of the strongest erogenous zones.

You will receive more details about the operation during the consultation with a specialist.

Dermatoscopy

Skin lesions could be a sign for a serious problem and it is extremely important to be monitored regularly.

When new (or observed changes in existing) skin formations, lesions, moles, melanoma, parasitic infections, psoriasis, nail diseases, scalp and skin changes, it is important that they be examined by a specialist. The purpose of the study is a thorough examination of the surface layers of the skin and the pigment formations on it. This procedure is called dermatoscopy.

Dermatoscopy is a non-invasive method for examining the upper layers of the skin, allowing a drastic increase in skin structures and more detailed observation than is possible with a simple eye examination. The dermatoscope consists of a magnifying glass that magnifies the image up to 10 times, a light source, a transparent plate, and sometimes a liquid medium between the instrument and the skin. This technique is useful in dermatological examinations to distinguish benign lesions, especially in the diagnosis of melanoma. Digital dermatoscopic images are stored and compared with images obtained during the next patient ‘s visit.

There are no risks for the patient during the examination and no special preparation is required for its implementation, except for the skin to be well cleansed. In many cases, this remains the only one method in diagnosing pigmented lesions and reduces the need for biopsy.

PRP Hair Loss Treatment

Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) treatment is the latest innovation against hair loss.

This method uses a special substance, taken from the patient’s blood, called platelet-rich plasma. This extract accelerates the body’s natural healing process and stimulates the rejuvenation and the regeneration of cells.

PRP Hair Loss Treatment is an innovative, natural, and absolutely safe method suitable for the prevention and treatment of hair loss in men and women. This is an autologous regenerative and regenerative hair follicle therapy that uses body ingredients and is just as effective against hair loss as it is as an additional therapy for hair transplantation.

PRP therapy helps with the activation of hair follicles.

The use of specific plasma cells “stimulates” the body to react in an intense but totally natural way against their hypofunction. In particular, the hair loss zone is nourished with activated cells that release proteins that act and facilitate the hair restoration process.

Multi-level action of PRP therapy

Prevention:

The application of PRP, in the early stages of hair thinning, prevents the loss of more hair and strengthens existing hair growth, renewing the “weak” hair follicles. Hair Loss Treatment: Even at more advanced thinning stages, PRP strengthens the metabolism of hair follicles and stops hair thinning, obstructing their hypofunction and activating the regeneration process.

Post-operative support:

The PRP method is applied before hair transplantation to reinforce the new hair follicles that will be placed in the host area, increasing the effectiveness of the result. It is also applied after transplantation on the donor side and in the area of implantation to improve the healing, to stabilize the application and to increase the aesthetic effect.
